Pay attention to your playlist.

Sitting in Starbucks, trying to crank out some homework and listening to the Allman Brothers Band, The Fillmore Concerts. After about 2 hours I unknowingly hit the next artist in my play list and am blindsided by the Barenaked Ladies, Gordon. Great/happy music, but after zoning out to the Allmans quite a shock.

If you're not familiar with the Allmans, the Fillmore Concerts is a great 2-disc intro fo the band in their prime, amazing live blues-rock w/ some serious underlying jazz influences.

DUDE!! I was just jamming to Live @ the Filmore East last night. Probably one of the best live recordings EVER!
Have you ever checked out nugs.net or archive.org?
There's a ton of live Dead shows on there that you can download. There's a 71' show at the Filmore where they play a set with Dewayne Allman on nugs.net.

Yeah, I've been downloading from nugs.net for years. I haven't gotten that show, I'll have to look for it. I've also been a big fan of http://bt.etree.org/ lately, a lot of great shows are available there as well.
